Find promising fishing times.
Explore freshwater fishing forecasts for bass, crappie, catfish and other available species. Compare estimated feeding windows with wind, temperature, moon phase and barometric pressure.
Explore freshwater fishing →Plan your next hunt or fishing trip with activity forecasts, solunar feeding times, weather, parcel maps and GPS navigation. Use Scout Assist to check your camera view for possible whitetail deer sign.
Use it in your browser. No sign-in required right now.
See your phone's true-north heading, compass direction, latitude, longitude and reported GPS accuracy. WildGauge also puts compact compass and GPS readings above each app page, where they stay clear of destination fields and map controls.
Tap to try live readings and allow device access if prompted. This preview does not upload your coordinates. Device sensors and browser permissions determine availability; compass headings are corrected to true north using your GPS location and the World Magnetic Model. Phone readings are estimates, not survey-grade measurements.
Open WildGauge with compass and GPS readings →Hold the phone flat, away from metal. Preview stops when you leave the page, hide it, tap Stop, or after two minutes. Readings stay on this page only.
Which species are you after? Where will you go? When does the forecast look promising? Start with your location and bring weather, estimated activity windows and maps into the same plan.
Explore freshwater fishing forecasts for bass, crappie, catfish and other available species. Compare estimated feeding windows with wind, temperature, moon phase and barometric pressure.
Explore freshwater fishing →Check whitetail deer activity forecasts and other available game species. Put estimated movement windows alongside sunrise, sunset, wind and local weather before choosing time in the field.
Explore hunting forecasts →Explore saltwater fishing activity forecasts, then check tide and current information where a suitable NOAA station is available. Save the locations you want to revisit.
Explore saltwater fishing →Activity scores are planning estimates out of 100—not a percentage chance of catching fish or seeing game. Weather, habitat, season, pressure and local conditions can change what happens.
Explore hunting maps and fishing locations in satellite, street, topographic and 3D views. Combine available parcel boundaries, landowner names, public-land layers, elevation contours and terrain shading. Save stands, fishing spots and access points in My Outings.
Explore WildGauge maps →Parcel lines are assessment references, not a legal survey. A mapped boundary or public owner does not establish permission to hunt, fish or enter.
Check available National Weather Service forecasts, wind, temperature and precipitation before your outing. Review radar and official weather alerts while connected, and consider moon phase and barometric pressure alongside species activity estimates.
Check outdoor weather forecasts →Point your phone camera at possible deer scat, antler rubs, scrapes, trails, bedding areas or antler sheds. Scout Assist analyzes snapshots and describes visible clues and possible lookalikes, helping you decide what to inspect more closely.
Try Scout Assist for whitetail deer →Scout Assist is experimental and requires internet access. Camera images are sent for AI analysis after consent; API usage charges apply. It can miss or misidentify sign, and longer detection range is not guaranteed. Confirm findings in the field.
Build an outing around your species, location, schedule and checklist. The optional AI activity planner helps reason over your plan and available conditions. Hunting and fishing stay at the center, with trapping, camping, hiking, kayaking and biking available too.
Build an outing plan →Start with your current GPS location or choose the area you plan to visit.
Look at solunar periods, weather and estimated activity. Match the plan to your group, timing and preferences.
Keep useful places and plans in My Outings. Check access rules and prepare offline coverage before you leave.
Choose freshwater or saltwater fishing, select an available species, and set your location. WildGauge shows estimated activity windows alongside local conditions. Use those as a planning aid, then consider water conditions, habitat and what you observe at the spot.
Solunar tables describe major and minor activity periods derived from the positions of the sun and moon. WildGauge lets you consider these periods alongside weather and species forecasts. A solunar window is not a guarantee that fish or wildlife will be active.
WildGauge offers estimated whitetail deer activity windows to help you plan time in the field. These are not live animal locations or guaranteed sightings. Wind, cover, hunting pressure, season and local observations still matter.
Yes. Weather and species forecast views bring together available conditions, moon information and pressure trends. Data availability and forecast range depend on the location and source.
Not yet. Public-land ownership layers have nationwide reach, while private parcel boundaries come from connected state and county services with varying coverage. Check the map coverage checklist for active and pending counties. Landowner names appear only when the source publishes them. Missing parcel data never means land is public.
Some features do. Supported downloaded map packs and loaded driving directions can remain useful without a connection. Download coverage first. Live forecasts, new place searches, calculating a new route, the AI activity planner and Scout Assist camera recognition require internet access.
You can open WildGauge in your phone or desktop browser without an app-store download or signing in right now. Current saved content uses your device identity, so use the backup option in My Outings before changing devices or clearing browser data.
Yes. Hunting and fishing are the focus, with camping, hiking, kayaking, biking and other activities as extras. Explore outdoor places or include an available activity in your outing plan. Confirm closures, reservations, access and local rules with the managing agency.
Scout Assist checks camera snapshots for possible scat, rubs, scrapes, trails, bedding areas and antler sheds. It uses reference photos for scat comparisons and describes possible lookalikes. Results need field confirmation; appearance alone does not establish species or freshness. This experimental tool requires internet access.
On phones and browsers that support vibration, a recent possible detection can trigger repeated vibration briefly. Visual alerts are also shown. iPhone browsers use visual alerts. Alerts stop on Pause, expiry or detected camera movement, but snapshot delays mean they cannot stop exactly when a sign leaves view.
Yes. The GPS measurement tool supports current-location capture, single-tap and double-tap map points. It measures straight-line segments between points, not survey-grade boundaries or a guaranteed terrain-following distance. Review the phone's reported accuracy before relying on a measurement.
Where the parcel service publishes them, landowner names can appear at close zoom with parcel boundaries enabled. Names may be missing, withheld or outdated. Use the parcel details and source record for context, and obtain access permission separately.
Yes. Use the live compass preview on this page and allow access if prompted. You can see true-north heading, compass direction, coordinates and GPS accuracy when your phone and browser support them. Stop the preview whenever you want. This preview does not upload coordinates, and true-north compass readings require both a usable GPS fix and compass access.
